Day 6: He Delights In You

Hallelujah!

Sing to the LORD a new song—

His praise in the assembly of the godly.

Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;

let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.

Let them praise His name with dancing,

and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.

For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;

He adorns the afflicted with salvation.

–Psalm 149: 1-4

Lord, hear me now. I pray and sing to you. My life is a heartsong for you, and I pray that I might honor in all my praise and worship. I pray that my life might be a delight to you.

He Delights in Mercy

The Lord is for you. It is so very easy to think that He holds grudges, that He remembers our past and holds it against us, that He is against, but this isn’t the case. The Lord loves, is compassionate, is forgiving, and is for you. He know everything you’ve done, and yet, He chooses you, not because you are clean but to make you clean. His blood was shed to redeem you and to make you His righteousness. The Lord delights in mercy. (Micah 7:18-19)

He Delights In You

You were made in His image. You were made to glorify Him, and He delights in you when you follow Him. He takes pleasure in you as His precious child. You need only exist in Him to put a smile on His face. As a good father looks upon His child with nothing but love and joy, the Lord looks upon His people in the same manner. (Psalm 147:10-11)

He Delights in Talking with You

The Lord hears the prayers of His people. He sees and hears us. He isn’t beyond reach. He isn’t floating around on a cloud somewhere, isolated from His creation. For those covered by the blood, those seeking the Lord and walking in humility in Christ, He hears your prayers. He delights in them as a good father loves to hear his child talk with him, so the Lord enjoys talking with you. (Proverbs 15:8-9)

Lord, you smile over me. Your delight is very real, and sometimes, I cannot fathom why you love me so much, but you do. You delight in me because I am yours. I give you myself. I give my prayers. I give you my praise Lord.
